Job Summary

  • Advising site management on all matters of Health, Safety and the Environment

  • Develop, maintain and implement with the project manager a health and safety plan

  • Coordinating the implementation of the Environment, Health & Safety Management System on the project to ensure company policy and standards are met

  • Review all contractors’ safety procedures at tender stage, to advise on adequate resources that have been allocated and make recommendations to the Project Manager

  • Arranging safety training and lectures to meet AECOM requirements

  • Attending all work package pre start safety meetings and appraise all control measures before work commences.

  • Completing a monthly site inspection and Statistic reports for the Project & Construction Services SH&E Manager, Russia

  • Completing safety part of a monthly client reports

  • Carrying out safety inspections and reporting findings in writing weekly to Site Management with a copy to the Project & Construction Services SH&E Manager, Russia.

  • Undertaking specific audits, as directed, and submitting them to the Project & Construction Services SH&E Manager, Russia in the agreed time limit.

  • In cases of imminent danger, suspend the operation.

  • Ensure that legal and statutory requirements of health and safety, including codes of practice, are followed

  • Investigate accidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences and environmental incidents, produce a written report making recommendations to prevent further occurrences and ensuring corrective actions are implemented

  • Maintaining a record of site accident statistics, identifying trends and taking remedial action

  • Proactively assisting the project team to ensure the project achieves a high standard of safety

  • Attending Safety Managers meetings and other personal and professional development

  • Ensure that legal and statutory requirements of health and safety, including codes of practice, are followed

  • Make sure that Project Staff has got necessary knowledge in the fields of Safety and Labor Protection; to organize the required trainings via Project & Construction Services SH&E Manager, Russia or the HR Department if needed.

  • Make sure that ALL AECOM personnel provided with proper PPE in timely manner

Minimum Requirements

  • Fluent Russian and English preferable

  • ability to examine data and draw conclusions

  • understands key legal requirements in the geography in which they operate

  • ability to identify problems and opportunities and analyze information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions

  • ability to plan, conduct and report audits and investigations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specific safety training or education with qualification as a safety engineer or minimum 5 years’ experience of work as a safety manager on (international)construction site
