Position Title Computer Operator V

Operates and maintains the Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) and related JDS/PCDS/ICADS display equipment. Performs Preventive and Corrective Maintenance (PM/CM) on assigned equipment. Verifies equipment operability after maintenance actions. Documents all maintenance actions and isolates malfunctions. Maintains JDS components in accordance with PM schedule and work instructions. Performs JDS system and network administration tasks. Manages JDS workstations by installing and configuring approved software/hardware. Performs software backups. Utilizes JDS and UNIX utilities to ensure system security and data integrity. Work typically requires detailed understanding of the interrelationships of computer OS diagnostics and routine operations. Assists Mission Coordinator and Air Intercept Controllers (AICs) and performs Mission Lineup Unit (MLU) functions when necessary. Work may be reviewed by the lead technician for compliance with accepted practices. Receives pre-mission data from squadrons and inputs into MLU. Informs Mission Coordinator and /or squadron AICs when data is not received in a timely manner. Verifies all information received from the squadron is correct and is accurately reflected on the JDS. Cross-trained and qualified to operate at least two additional TCTS system.
High school graduate or equivalent with advanced computer technology training.
Five years' computer technology experience.
Three years' experience with the Tactical Combat Training System or similar military aviator training system.
Three years' management experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
May be required to maintain current COMSEC certification.
Must possess a valid state Driver’s License.
Must possess and maintain an active DoD Security clearance.
Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification. (within 6 months of hire date)
Ability to speak, read, and write English
AS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Local candidates preferred.
