AECOM Municipal Infrastructure Civil Engineer in Kelowna, British Columbia

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Civil Engineer for employment based in the Kelowna, BC office. The successful candidate will have an understanding and significant experience in civil engineering, civil technology and construction management principles and is very familiar with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure. She/he will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. He/she will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and displays drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. The successful candidate will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal water, and wastewater sectors.

T

he responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance facilities

  • Design of systems associated with lift stations, pump stations and other mechanical equipment associated with water and wastewater utilities

  • Perform constructability reviews

  • Perform construction inspections

  • Lead construction administration

  • Prepare documentation for design projects and reports

  • Prepare construction cost estimates

  • Preparation of project specifications and contract documents

  • Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; assistance with proposal preparation; contract preparation and negotiation; coordination with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

  • Eligible for registration as P.Eng

  • MMCD Contract Administration certification

  • Training and experience in project management

  • Experience in proposal writing and job scoping

  • 4+ years of related experience with civil engineering, planning, design and construction inspection, municipal water and wastewater treatment, conveyance and pumping infrastructure

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

  • Valid BC Class V Driver's License

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients

  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment
