Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Entry - Level Office Engineer for immediate employment; the employee will be assigned to the SHA District 1 Office in Salisbury, MD. This qualified Office Engineer applicant will provide assistance to the access management section of the District 1 office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains records and prepares reports pertaining to public works installations and projects

  • Assists with coordinating the reviews and comments for access permits for developers

  • Coordinates the hydrologic/hydraulic and traffic impact studies for access permits

  • Interacts with another state, county, and local officials concerning access permit approval

  • Assists the Regional Engineer in conducting field investigation of development sites to determine access locations, number, type, design

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 0-2 years of experience with State DOT Transportation Projects focusing on the construction administration of them

  • Must possess a valid Driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs needed

  • Ability to learn to read and understand construction drawings

  • Ability to communicate effectively and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public

  • Knowledge of basic mathematics used in engineering design, drawings and drafting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated communication skills; oral and written.

  • Basic computer skills; MS Office

  • Demonstrated time management skills; self-motivator, team oriented
