Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Supervisor to be based in our Houston, Texas location.

Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to participate and add value to developing commercial strategies.

  • Oversees procedure development and implementation.

  • Requires a demonstrated ability to effectively lead the project controls function on a small to medium sized project.

  • Assumes mentoring and training roles as requested

  • Reviews and approves output from project cost and schedule systems. Prepares or reviews presentations based on system output.

  • Creates and assists with cost schedule baseline.

  • Conducts or assists in performance measurement and associated cost trending.

  • Prepares and assists in various levels of project reporting. Key contributor in the preparation of monthly status report.

  • Exhibits expert ability to use drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data.

  • Possesses knowledge of construction accounting principles with an extensive understanding of the manner in which the company establishes and documents the financial position.

  • Assumes lead role in monthly production of revised project cost forecasting.

  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of construction contracting including the manner in which contract type effects implementation of project controls systems.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.

Experience:

  • Entrants to this position require 8 years of experience with engineering, procurement and construction projects or operating industrial facilities.

  • Must have both cost and schedule experience with 2+ years in whichever discipline is secondary.

  • Some field experience required with 5+ years preferred.

  • Requires demonstrated ability to effectively lead a technical organization of at least two planning/scheduling and/or cost professionals to support company and project requirements

  • Engineering and construction assignments on Oil, Gas, & Chemical projects

  • Demonstrated experience on Studies/PreFEED/FEED/Detailed Design and Construction.

  • Planning & scheduling, advanced user of Primavera P6.

  • Knowledgeable in progress measurement & rules of credit, earned value performance, and change control

Business travel will be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cost analysis and forecasting.

  • User of cost processor / earned value database such as Prism G2.
