Job Summary

AECOM has an opportunity for a highly qualified

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Subject Matter Expert to assist planning and assessing UAS capabilities and concepts in support of USINDOPACOM and U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) Multi Domain Task Force (MDTF). This opportunity will support testing of innovative strategies, techniques, and technologies. Testing and assessment activities will be in an environment that replicates real-world, operational relevance to determine if a capability can fill a military need. This position is located at

This is a contingent position.

Background: USARPAC’s proposed campaign of experiments will demonstrate a unique solution to shorten the “bridging space” between current inventories, Army cyber electromagnetic activities (CEMA) platforms and next generation UAS platforms. By exploring and investigating UAS and experimenting with small form factor payloads, unique Cyber and Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions can be applied to inform capability development for the Pacific theater to bolster the Combatant Commander’s flexible and responsive deterrent options.

The UAS SME will perform the following specific tasks:

  1. Provide assistance to senior Project Manager in planning considerations and briefings, including preparing formal papers and background information for USARPAC senior leader consumption.

  2. Provide subject matter expertise, integrating UAS activities into the joint exercise life cycle

  3. Provide qualitative data to support operational utility recommendations.

  4. Support experimentation and coordinate processes for integrating Cyber, Electromagnetic Activities into Unmanned Aerial Systems operations.

  5. Assist USINDOPACOM and USARPAC in the testing, coordination and assessment of MDTF capabilities, to include test activities and in a controlled lab environment.

  6. Assist USARPAC in the development of operational and functional concepts of Operation and serve as technical point of contact for USARPAC experimentation with C4ISR, EW, and Radio Frequency-Enabled Cyber solutions for MDTF UAS.

  7. Support and advise in the planning and coordination of USARPAC’s Military Utility Assessment (MUA) of RAVEN-X components and other MDTF UAS solutions.

  8. Provide SME support to USARPAC in the development, testing, demonstration, and transition of MDTF UAS tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP).

  9. Assist USARPAC in the development of innovative approaches to address USARPAC Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) gaps with regard to multi-domain UAS experimentation.

  10. Coordinate with USINDOPACOM on USARPAC related capability demonstrations and concepts.

  11. Provide SME support in technical planning for and insertion of CEMA, EW, and RF-enabled cyber capabilities into live, virtual, and constructive venues including joint exercises, field tests, modeling and simulation, and tabletop war games.

  12. Coordinate with appropriate Centers of Excellence, Program Executive Office and funding sources to ensure efforts are collaborative and beneficial external to USARPAC.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience).

  • At least ten (10) years’ experience supporting DoD

  • At least five (5) years of experience in the DoD in an UAS or EW related field

  • At least two (2) years of experience working in the USINDOPACOM AOR.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must have an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SharePoint.

  • Knowledge of USINDOPACOM and/or USARPAC Headquarters structure and processes.

  • Experience with test and analysis of new capabilities.

  • TS/SCI Eligibility.
