The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide oversight and technical direction to environmental laboratories supporting multiple governments

  • Interpretation of regulatory and contractual guidance related to environmental chemistry

  • Providing advice and direction to project managers, field staff, and subcontracted laboratories regarding project specific analytical and quality control requirements

  • Preparation of Quality Assurance Project Plans

  • Data validation using EPA National Functional Guidelines and similar state and regional guidance

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science

  • 4+ years related experience

  • Analytical Chemistry, Data Validation, and Project Management experience

  • Must be comfortable with the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and have familiarity with the concepts and use of common database software packages

  • Technical expertise on lab analytical services in a commercial setting

  • Excellent written and verbal skills are required for concise communication externally with clients and contractors, and internally with direct reports, area experts, and management

  • Experience with CERCLA process

  • Self-motivated problem solver capable of working in a team setting

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree a plus

  • Analyst and/or supervisor in an environmental chemistry laboratory

  • Data Analysis experience

  • Familiar with State of Hawaii environmental program

  • Experience with DoD QSM

  • Experience working in Hawaii.

  • Professional license or affiliation (i.e., CHMM)
