Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated TET III for immediate employment in our Hunt Valley, MD office. The employee will be assigned to the SHA District 1 Office in Salisbury, MD. This qualified TET Level III applicant will provide support services to SHA’s District 1 Utility and Access Management Departments.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with plan review, coordination, approval of utility permits issued in District 1

  • Provides technical assistance and coordination to engineering consulting firms in developing utility relocation and work zone traffic control plans

  • Assists in the overseeing of Miss Utility Ticket Tracking and Lane Closure Tracking

  • Assists with monitoring and technical guidance for ADA requirements during issuing and construction phase of Utility Permits

  • Assists with coordinating the reviews and comments for access permits for developers

  • Coordinates the hydrologic/hydraulic and traffic impact studies for access permits

  • Interacts with other state, county, and local officials concerning access permit approval

  • Assists the Regional Engineer in conducting field investigation of development sites to determine access locations, number, type, design

  • Participates as a reviewer in SHA field investigations of proposed highway project, provide written and verbal comments throughout all design stages

  • Assists with the coordination and review of access management permits

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 5+ years of experience with State DOT Transportation Projects focusing on utility plan review/approval, coordination, inspection, and permit approval

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs needed

  • Ability to learn to read and understand construction drawings

  • Ability to communicate effectively and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public

  • Knowledge of basic mathematics used in engineering design, drawings and drafting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have good communication skills, oral and written

  • Basic computer skills, MS Office

  • Excellent time management skills, self-motivator and team oriented
