AECOM Electrical Engineer/Designer in Gurgaon, India

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer/Designer II for its Greenwood Village, CO office.

This position will provide support to the engineering and design staff working on exciting and challenging facilities such as water treatment, transportation, laboratories, hospitals, federal, higher education, and commercial projects. This position will have the opportunity to use drafting software to create 3D models of the electrical and technology systems supporting the operation of these facilities. Other software tools may be utilized to size the building systems and components. A strong interest in building information modeling (BIM) is required along with a desire to see the finished design product in successful operation. Incumbent will assist with the electrical design of lighting, power and technology systems for commercial and institutional facilities by drawing such systems in BIM.

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Working knowledge of electrical system analysis tools (E-TAP or SKM)

  • Experience working on projects that were executed using REVIT or a similar 3D BIM Product

  • EIT and ability to obtain professional engineer (PE) registration in the next two years

  • Experience with the design of modifications to low voltage (480 V and below) electrical power systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities including office tenant space, utilities and support facilities. This includes preparation of electrical system load analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, etc.

  • Experience with the design of lighting and lighting control systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities in accordance with energy code requirements (ASHRE 90.1) including familiarity with lighting calculations, occupancy control, and application of state of the art materials to projects.

  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code

  • AutoCAD and REVIT experience

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ plus of experience in buildings and facilities engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
