Job Summary

Primary purpose of the Role

  • The primary purpose of the role is to drive the growth of our Construction Services business and to deliver the business plan for CS in China with a focus on South China

  • Ensure a profitable CS business in the district, working closely and collaboratively with other senior team members in the matrix organization including Greater China, other regions across APAC, End Markets and Corporate.

Core accountabilities

People:

  • Ensure that Construction Services has the appropriate talent and resources to deliver projects effectively and to meet growth plans

  • Review staff utilization levels across the business line/region and ensure this is optimized through strong levels of collaboration with peers and key stakeholders

  • Access global reach in support of business growth

Clients:

  • Drive and deliver CS China strategy across market sectors (including but not limited to Industrial / Commercial/ Rail/ Infrastructure/ Sports/ Leisure/ Education/ Healthcare

  • Implement and ensure the execution of a business development plan and foster client relationships by maintaining an excellent understanding of market needs

  • Ensure client satisfaction based on results of annual surveys, repeat business and the Net Promoter score

  • Allocate Business Development investments

  • Win projects

  • Develop strategy, road map and annual business plan for the business

  • Identify and build key strategic relationship with potential delivery partners

Excellence:

  • Identify key business opportunities

  • Work in partnership with the Regional Leads to ensure the successful delivery of our projects and our business

  • Collaborate with other Leaders across the regions/ geography/organization to promote a culture whereby we maximize multi-disciplinary service offerings

  • Promote enhanced knowledge management across CS

  • Develop business strategies to promote revenue, profitability and long term growth

  • Lead the business planning process and ensure we meet or exceed plan (net service revenue, gross margin, Pre- VC EBITA and Staff Utilization) and for cash and DSO’s (billed and unbilled)

  • Drive financial performance by achieving plan targets through identifying and implementing operational efficiencies and cost savings

  • Lead the bidding process for major projects and ensure all projects are bid and executed in accordance with the DOA

  • Create revenue and cost synergies across districts

Strategy Development

  • Understanding of the organizations/business unit market position, opportunities, capabilities and competitive threats

  • Experienced in creating and implementing operational plans in support of the achievement of the organizations goals

Financial Management

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen

  • Develop/analyse financial plans to maximize resources

  • Success in a variety of construction project types, commercial terms, partner arrangements, etc.

Client Relationships

  • Lead successful strategic partnerships and long-term relationships with suppliers and clients to drive profitable organic growth through an understanding of clients’ needs.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Degree level education required.

  • 20 years working experience preferably with experience in relevant market sector
