AECOM Structural Field Representative in Greenwood Village, Colorado

AECOM is seeking a Structural Field Representative (Area Engineer Assistant) to be based out of our Denver, Colorado office.
The Area Engineer Assistant will help the Structural Area Engineer manage the structural site construction activities of a water treatment plant project, representing the client on behalf of AECOM, at the project site in Golden, Colorado.
Activities include support from project bidding through final close-out, specifically shop drawing review and approval, requests for information, contract document changes and revisions, constructions observations and non-certified inspections, construction status reporting, permitting support, and record drawings. Supplemental design will be required to support field changes, RFI’s.
Work independently or as part of a team working closely with the Structural Area Engineer in reviewing and advising on all aspects of construction administration
Verify buildings and related works are constructed as per Contract Documents and Specifications.
Monitor and report on progress of structural project activities, including significant milestones and any conditions, which would affect project cost, schedule, or performance
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports to accurately document construction progress
Maintain organized, detailed and up-to-date field office files to be readily accessible by AECOM and the client
Assist in change order review
Check detailed design information and calculations for all civil and structural delegated design submissions by contractors.
Assist in review of submittals, review and redline shop drawings, and RFIs (request for information)
Coordinate with home office support staff to clarify design queries and resolve field issues.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus 4+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely with written and verbal communication and proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Physically able to work and walk in outdoor/construction site environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, noise, and moisture. Position requires often standing/walking; Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends should it be required by project schedule.
Current registration as a licensed professional engineer in the state of Colorado
Previous water treatment plant and industrial building experience or the desire to gain water treatment plant and industrial building experience
