AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer for employment in Albuquerque, NM, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, or Salt Lake City, UT. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive. The engineer will work in the AECOM Water Business unit on various water/wastewater projects including but not limited municipal water/wastewater treatment design, hydraulic systems, pumps and pipe design, cost estimate, project schedule, planning and feasibility. The successful candidate will sit in the Albuquerque, Phoenix or Salt Lake office and support other regional offices. In this role, entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM’s Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCad MEP
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Bachelor degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering or related
Educational emphasis on hydraulic systems, water treatment, wastewater treatment, or similar fields
Must possess a valid driver's license
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (CAD, GIS, hydraulic analysis, process modeling)
Technical experience related to water/wastewater Capable of supporting multiple projects at a time and meet project schedules
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
