AECOM Construction Manager MEP in Ghent, Belgium

AECOM Belgium is currently seeking a Construction Manager to manage all the industrial MEP construction works on the site. The goal of this position is to ensure that the actual construction of the project is carried out in a safe manner, to the agreed specification and quality laid out by the client, and is completed within the project programme.
In the role of Construction Manager your key duties include:
Monitoring, checking all project progress, documentation, file system and distribution.
Advising on Permitting and Approvals requirements
Assist with obtaining Technical Conditions
Identify scope of design interfaces.
Identify need for mock-ups.
Prepare product safety and quality plans.
Analyse construction capabilities of tenderers.
Assist preparation of tender documentation.
Analyse forms of contract available.
Assist contract negotiations.
Develop preliminary construction program.
Design development and buildability of the concept/detailed designs.
Audit agreed quality plans and ensure that they are undertaken on site.
Check Contractors’ Safety Plans
Ensure contractors adhere to Safety Plans
Uphold statutory regulations.
Control impact of construction on the environment.
Control logistics and security.
Temporary field accommodation and welfare.
Implement and manage induction/cost against project plans.
Prepare monthly reports, photographs.
Ensure inspection of all works, defects, backlogs and their repairing.
Co-operation with other team members.
Carry out performance reviews with their subordinates.
Inform regularly his superior about all progress.
Establish and maintain local law legislation and company Health and Safety standards on the sites, use Health and Safety tools.
Higher education from a technical university
Dutch and English language knowledge
Commercial and financial awareness
Ability to work under pressure
Good job organisation and time management
Thorough knowledge of the construction process
Understand clients’ objectives
Build and maintain good reputation of the company.
During his/her activities use adequate qualification, competencies, professional expertise and care which can be expected from a qualified employee on this position.
Become acquainted with company internal rules and regulations, procedures and policies and adhere to these.
Act in accordance with local legislation.
Take responsibility for the Health and Safety in the department or on site; implement and act in accordance with the company policy in regards to Health and Safety.
Become acquainted with new rules and methods, improve qualification and language knowledge.
Keep confidentiality about all facts which are considered or declared as confidential.
If an ISO system applied, implement and adhere to the current requirements of this quality control system.
