Position Title SER IAP LATAM Business Development Lead

AECOM is actively recruiting for a Business Development Lead for work in the area of Impact Assessment and Permitting (IAP) in the Latin America and Caribbean Region (LATAM). This position provides business development support for the Southeast region IAP practice.
The primary work location is negotiable; travel will be required. The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM IAP specialists across the US, and will have the resources of more than 3,500 regional staff available to assist in project delivery. This is a part-time variable position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Working closely with the LATAM Environment Business Unit Leader (BUL), SER IAP Regional Practice Leader, and the Americas IAP team to develop and implement business development and marketing strategies that specialize in impact assessment and permitting for international development organizations, industries, and the public sector
Maintaining an active and expanding pipeline of opportunities for the SER IAP business line in LATAM
Understanding of the entire business development lifecycle, including opportunity identification, capture management, technical solution design, proposal writing, costing, and applicable regulations
Supporting and leading the development and capture of client relationships, strategic initiatives, and emerging opportunities in the public sector or LATAM-based authorities with proven relationships with decision makers
Developing client relationships with key AECOM clients in international development organizations, LATAM industries, and public sector-based authorities
Leading, reviewing, writing winning proposals as a Capture Manager
Developing strategic teaming arrangements with potential partners, including small businesses
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or an earth science-related field
10+ years of experience in providing Environmental Consulting and IAP services in LATAM
Specific technical experience/subject matter expertise in the areas of environmental impact assessment and permitting
High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment
Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written (writing sample requested)
Solid writing and organization skills
Good working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
Candidate must be able to travel
Self-motivated, driven, and hard working
Existing, mature, and tested Client relationships in LATAM
Demonstrated ability to generate new work in LATAM
Experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment
Strong experience with environmental impact assessment and permitting, including ability to manage projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workload, as well as interface with Clients
Familiar with international development organizations, notably including IDB, World Bank, Caribbean Development Bank, USAID, and equivalent
Excellent and relevant references
Master’s degree in relevant field
Certification(s) are preferred (e.g., AICP, CEP, PMP, CWB, PWS, PE, etc.)
Demonstrated successful and extensive business development, consulting, and proposal/project delivery experience in LATAM
Excellent and advanced writing skills
Bi-lingual skills are preferred
Knowledge of GIS and MSProject preferred
Project management experience
Proposal management experience
Established relationships with international development and LATAM customers
Ability to develop a successful IAP market practice, resourced for delivery by existing AECOM assets
