AECOM Senior NEPA Project Manager in Germantown, Maryland

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior NEPA Project Manager. The primary work location is Germantown, Maryland or Arlington, Virginia; however, we will consider excellent candidates in any existing office location. The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM NEPA and Impact Assessment and Permitting (IAP) specialists across the US, and will have the resources of more than 3,500 environmental planning staff available to assist in project delivery.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Natural resources, Wetlands management, Geology, Acoustics, Aviation planning, other planning, or an earth science-related field

  • 6+ of experience of NEPA experience

  • 6+ years of managing projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budget

  • 3+ years of experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment

  • U.S. citizenship is required, due to the nature of this work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant field

  • 10+ years industry experience, preferably with NEPA consulting to the Department of Defense (DoD) or other Federal clients

  • Specific and established experience in providing NEPA consulting services to the DoD or other Federal clients in multiple locations

  • Existing, mature, and tested Client relationships with an ability to generate new work for the Team, Office, and Company

  • Strong experience with NEPA (and Natural/Cultural Resources Management), including ability to manage projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workload, as well as interface successfully with Clients

  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment

  • Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written (writing sample required)

  • Strong working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Knowledge of GIS and MS Project

  • Organizational management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work

  • Self-motivated, driven, and hard working

  • Demonstrated proposal writing skills, including major (SF330) and minor (Task Order) Proposals

  • Demonstrated ability to market and win work successfully and effectively

  • Ability to assist in the development of a successful Federal Environmental Planning market practice, resourced for delivery by existing AECOM assets

  • Familiar with Federal, notably including DoD, NEPA and Natural/Cultural resources requirements and processes

  • Excellent and relevant references

  • Position requires field work and candidate must be able to travel

  • Professional certification(s) – PMP, CEP, PE, or similar

  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
