AECOM IT Infrastructure Intern in Germantown, Maryland

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated IT Infrastructure Intern for employment in Germantown, MD office.
The successful candidate will support the Technology Solutions Department in maintaining the infrastructure required for developing and maintaining customer-specific IT projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Support for local developers/users with general computing
Migration and consolidation of servers
Developing documentation for internal and cloud infrastructure
Performing inventory and standardization of internal department assets
Testing of backups to ensure successful disaster recovery with no errors
Monitoring server performance and metrics and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree, Associates Degree or Certification in IT or other related field required
Due to the nature of work, candidate MUST be a U.S. citizen
Only local candidates will be considered
General knowledge in the administration of full-cycle development environments: source control, testing/staging/production, issue tracking, etc.
Basic experience in the Installation and configuration of open source technologies
General knowledge of most operating system commands and utilities, Windows and LinuxFamiliarity of networking concepts
Basic experience with web servers: IIS, Apache, Nginx and database Servers: MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL
Ability to troubleshoot common networking/infrastructure issues
General knowledge of virtualization: VMWare, Hyper-V
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
