Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Mid-level Electrical Engineer with design experience in low and medium voltage electrical systems and Substation design for immediate employment in the Germantown, MD office. The successful candidate will design and model electric distribution systems. The responsibilities of this position may entail some domestic U.S. travel to perform assessments of client systems and infrastructure.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Electrical engineering development from conceptual design through construction support for electrical power up to 13.2kV distribution systems for Water and Waste Water treatment plants

  • Works closely with other discipline Engineers, Designers and Project Managers as a key team player

  • Writes reports for internal and external purposes based on findings

  • Ensures accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC procedures

  • Assists in producing engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis and reports) in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices

  • This position is contingent upon award of contract

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Experience with a variety of computer aided design platforms including Revit MEP, AutoCAD and Microstation for the production of contract documents

  • Experience with power analysis software such as ETAP or SKM

  • Design experience in low and medium voltage electrical systems and Substation design

  • Some travel to western United States (up to 25%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical engineering

  • Certified Energy Manager

  • PMP

  • Experience with AGi32 Lighting Design software

  • Familiarity with the Electrical Codes (NEC or IEC exposure is an asset)

  • Fire Alarm design experience

  • SCADA design experience
