Position Title Civil/Water Resources Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to work as part of a civil engineering green infrastructure team in our Germantown, Maryland office. This position will support ongoing water resources engineering projects across the DC-Metro/Mid-Atlantic region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.

  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

  • Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to a variety of water resource engineering design projects

  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

  • Develop solutions for routine technical problems

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in water resources OR other related degree

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)

  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with MS Office Programs/Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software

  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven environment

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) required; must be on track to attain Professional Engineer license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working in a collaborative consulting engineering environment

  • More advanced experience with standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
