AECOM Senior Construction Inspector in Gainesville, Georgia

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated Construction Inspector for immediate employment in Gainesville, GA or Northeast Georgia area GDOT District 1. This is an exceptional opportunity to continue developing AECOM’s existing Georgia construction practice. The appropriately qualified applicant must demonstrate in¬depth knowledge of transportation CM and CEI construction services for Georgia projects and possess a track record of successful transportation construction project delivery, management of transportation construction services and oversight of less experienced construction inspectors.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
In tandem with management, continue develop of CM and CEI business growth strategy
Implementation of CM/CEI best practices for Georgia transportation projects
Maintaining and developing relationships with clients
Coordination with local governments
Perform complex independent inspections of roadways and structure construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract
Perform complex inspections and conduct routine and standardized inspections; this includes inspecting asphalt and concrete for acceptable materials and mix; pavement for proper spreading, rolling, depth, alignment, and compaction; roadways and structures for conformance to plans and specifications; structural materials and members;placement of culverts; structural operations such as foundation excavation; placement of piling, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete and backfill; and traffic control and erosion control devices
Perform a complex variety of calculations and computations
Perform contract documentation duties, which may include field measurements of pay items as well as other department required documentation
High School Diploma
8 + years of experience
Knowledge of transportation construction, operations and maintenance project delivery
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Client relationship development
Successful project delivery track record
Strong attention to detail
Must poses a valid driver's license
Ability to oversee and develop inspectors and aides
Bachelor’s degree in Construction engineering, Civil engineering, construction management or other related field required
Experience in GDOT Construction and Maintenance
Knowledge of GDOT Construction related software
