Position Title Logistics Manager 1

Purpose and Scope:
Directs and Coordinates the overall function of the Logistics Department.
Ensure the successful operation of the Logistics department, to include Supply Support Operations, Requisition Processing, Inventory, Hazardous Material Management, Research and Cataloging, Purchasing and Acquisition, Receiving, Warehousing, Equipment Management and Administrative Support Services.
Manage staff and resources for the Logistics department
Manage diverse operational funding sources for the all logistics support functional areas.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the logistics program that support the initiatives and customer mission.
Evaluate and submit recommendations for new initiatives and methodologies in the logistics area that adequately address program requirements and priorities.
Participate with the customer to ensure a well-defined strategy is established and maintained logistics department.
Perform as the company liaison with contractors and the customer for planning, implementing and coordinating logistics initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to meet ever-changing deadlines.

Procedure Compliance - Each employee must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or seven (7) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: logistics services, material management, transportation, material handling, use of information systems in logistics management.
Must be familiar with current systems/ methodology.
Excellent analytical and communication skills; must possess planning/organizing and leadership skills and possess a valid driver’s license.
Position may require travel.
Position will require the ability to obtain a NACI investigation.
