Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Scientist 2/Geologist for immediate employment in our Franklin, TN office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Functions as a key staff in conducting soil and groundwater sampling and analysis associated with environmental/biological/geotechnical assessments and permitting activities

  • Performs multiple tasks with direction and oversight by others in a timely and organized manner assuring accuracy of the work product on time and within budget

  • Assesses and interprets data, plans, executes, analyzes and reports on environmental conditions and potential impact to the environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences or relevant scientific discipline

  • 2+ years of experience with skill in the use of applicable equipment and instrumentation

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in data collection, data review and preparation of scientific documents

  • Knowledge of environmental science principles and local environmental systems, site assessments and environmental investigations including soil and ground water sampling techniques

  • Working knowledge of drilling techniques including direct push and percussion methods and applicable field safety associated with outdoor investigations

  • Ability to interact appropriately with regulatory personnel and clients for routine tasks and meet required schedules while producing quality work

  • Ability to use Microsoft office suite, AutoCAD, GIS, and spreadsheet software

  • Proficient in environmental sampling, report preparation and data validation at a level of detail that requires intimate familiarity with method procedures and requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
