Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Turnaround/Shutdown Coordinator to be based at IOL Kearl to support our the Shutdown in Spring 2018.

The Turnaround Coordinator is responsible to develop a thorough understanding of the turnaround schedule and scope in order to facilitate the coordination with client, subcontractors, change management, workface planning, scheduling, material deliveries and construction activities. Coordinator will work on specific deliverables in coordination with the concerned function if required to support the functional deliverables e.g. review of construction bid documents and technical drawings to identify engineering specifications, evaluate and estimate materials, manpower, schedule and budget.

This individual will be working specifically on coordinating and managing the subcontractors overseeing the exchanger/boilmaker scope of work.

May include the following responsibilities:

  • Addresses and solves day to day project coordination challenges.

  • Initiates and anticipates arising issues to the project management team, and addresses with the Site Manager and customers accordingly.

  • Participates in project, proposal or functional meetings. Creates an action Items log and follows up with the responsible persons for close out of action items.

  • Produces various project management reports including but not limited to Key Performance Indicator, Project Status and Project Close-out Reports.

  • Collects, analyzes and submits reports for projects management and customer as required by the project.

  • Assists in the preparation of information to be submitted for the weekly and monthly construction reports.

  • Assists in the preparation of Risk Management Sessions.

  • Assists in the preparation of Lessons Learned Sessions.

  • Assists in the preparation of Gate Review Packages.

  • Coordinates and monitors the activities of assigned contractors performing work within the disciplines and ensures compliance with project safety, quality, schedule, cost and security/site requirements.

  • Responsible for assisting in establishing requirements thru the contractors execution plan and undertaking feasibility studies.

  • Attend and contribute information during team meetings with regards to current/outstanding issues and/or weekly process.

  • Coordinates the TA activities with operations and other customer (internal and external) as needed.

  • Responsible for participating in risk and value management in regards to cost and schedule control.

  • Handles all communication with engineering if not delegated differently by TA Manager.

  • Collaborate with other functions to enhance project success on an as needed basis required by the Project Management.

  • Resolves and supports Non-Compliance Reports (NCR) resolution with the QA/QC department.

  • Submit cost coded invoice/timesheets which have business unit expenditures to the Site Manager and/or TA Manager for approval.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in coordinating logistics/subcontractors in a turnaround/shutdown environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project management, Facility Management OR demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Certified trades with exceptional planning, managing and communication skills with over 2 years of construction experience required.

  • Ability to manage small projects / scopes with minimal supervision.

  • Solid understanding of EVMS project controls and scheduling principles.

  • Detail and results oriented individual with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

  • Good understanding of all the construction trades and how they are interdependent of each other to strategize and sequence the work activities in a complex industrial construction environment.

  • CSTS 09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) Certification.

  • First Aid Certification– Standard Level C.

  • This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Good understanding of schedule development and utilization experience and a good understanding of scheduling software (i.e. Primavera).

  • MS project or scheduling software experience is preferred.

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering and vendor specifications and drawings.
