Position Title Subcontractor Coordinator
Canada - Alberta
AECOM is seeking Supervisors to be based at IOL Kearl to support our the Shutdown in Fall 2018.
Work with AECOM subcontract coordinator and planners to verify scope and provide technical details with the subcontractor and ensure budgets are in place.
Confirms with sub-contractor that required manpower, equipment, and material is required for stated scope.
Ensure subcontractor has followed all proper AECOM and IORL procedures for timely deployment of personnel, equipment, trucks, small tools, and personal protective equipment.
Interface with planning / IORL for any technical details and clarifications during execution.
Coordinates with AECOM subcontractor coordinator that all required training and documentation is in place prior to mobilization.
Communicates with logistics coordinator to ensure gate and camp passes are in place for subcontractor equipment and trucks and that passes are returned once scope complete.
Coordinates with AECOM logistics coordinator to ensure:
Access to fueling station and monitors fuel usage
Infrastructure requirements are in place (office / lunch trailers, temporary lighting, temporary power
Provide general site knowledge to subcontractor (locations of permit offices, muster and evac points, fuel station, garbage receptacles, road use on site)
Approving or reject any changes in scope of work prior to starting and coordinating changes with AECOM subcontract coordinator to ensure commitments are in place.
Co-chair subcontractor pre-job kickoff meeting on site to review scope, hazard registry, and operating protocols on site.
Capture lessons learned in the post-shutdown phase from subcontractor.
Ensures subcontractor is incompliance with approved safety execution plan.
Ensures subcontractor employees abide by the 7th day off policy for fatigue management.
Validate subcontractor LEMS for proper work order numbers, number and names of personnel on site and hours worked, compliance to subcontract terms and conditions (what is billable vs non-billable).
Oversight of contractor to ensure work is scheduled and progressing to meet required timelines.
Works with subcontractor on mitigation plans for any issues encountered.
Address any safety concerns that is in relation to the work.
Coordination of SIMOPS with AECOM workers, other AECOM subcontractors, IORL contractors, and IORL operations.
Coordinate with AECOM subcontracts coordinator for deactivation of subcontractor employees IORL access badges upon demobilization from site.
Perform in field observations and interventions
In field subcontractor JSA reviews to ensure quality of risk identification and mitigation.
Act as single point of contact for deployment of subcontractor crews based on daily requirements.
Inspection of subcontractor vehicles upon arrival to site to ensure compliance with IORL and AECOM requirements.
Experience in coordinating subcontractors in a turnaround/shutdown environment.
Construction Management, Project management, Facility Management OR demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Certified trades with exceptional planning, managing and communication skills with over 2 years of construction experience required.
Ability to manage small projects / scopes with minimal supervision.
Solid understanding of EVMS project controls and scheduling principles.
Detail and results oriented individual with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Good understanding of all the construction trades and how they are interdependent of each other to strategize and sequence the work activities in a complex industrial construction environment.
CSTS 09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) Certification.
First Aid Certification– Standard Level C.
This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review.
Good understanding of schedule development and utilization experience and a good understanding of scheduling software (i.e. Primavera).
MS project or scheduling software experience is preferred.
Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering and vendor specifications and drawings.
