Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Safety Advisor to join our Suncor Firebag Turnaround team in Fort McMurray, AB. This a temporary position to support Spring 2021 Turnaround season and shift is 6 day on 1 day off.
Develops and manages SH&E programs for the company, business lines, regions, and/or clients. Provides leadership and support to Operations to help the organization achieve SH&E goals and objectives. Assists the business to meet regulatory requirements relating to specific SH&E obligations e.g. trained SH&E professionals in business/projects, officer duties, statutory reporting etc.
Under direct supervision, performs basic and routine duties in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
Assists in monitoring hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area.
Works with others to investigate accidents, injuries and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
Participates in recommending improvement in processes, design, procedures and equipment to minimize hazards.
Participates in employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.

In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree + 2 Years of Experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Construction Safety ticket (CSTS – 09 or 2020) or equivalent
CSO/BSO ticket
Fall Arrest Ticket
Driver's License and a clean driver's abstract required
Any other safety ticket and orientations requested by the client or project team
Able to work Night shift, if and when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid Ticket
