Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Planner, Insulation to be based in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a future opportuntiy position.

This position provides the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for concurrent projects throughout the organization.

May include the following responsibilities:

  • Interact effectively with AECOM/IOL SS/SD/OUT planners to provide steps for removal/reinstate, labour, material and (their corresponding) costs for insulation work as required in the Wos.

  • Preparation of job plans detailing the scope of work (what & how) as well as required resources (labour, materials, special tools / equipment and contractors), detailing required size & duration.

  • Assist AECOM/IOL coordinators with inventory management and procurement of insulation materials.

  • Under general supervision of lead planner or planning manager, perform various routine maintenance planning activities to maximize operating profit, equipment reliability and reduce down time using planned maintenance most effectively.

  • Work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, corrective and routine maintenance planning work while supporting the policies, goals, objectives of the company.

  • Develop procedures/instructions as required to execute work in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

  • Identify to Area Support personnel the required procedures/instructions of insulation.

  • Identify improvement opportunities both at plant and site wide levels.

  • Verify effectiveness of any actions taken to resolve non compliances.

  • Initiate actions to prevent occurrences of any non-conformances relating to the process or systems.

  • Liaise with the Supervisors on problems and any other important changes that may influence planned maintenance activities.

  • Maximize planning effectiveness by linking repeat job plans.

  • Review work order backlog to create, plan and process work orders as per IOL planning & scheduling procedure.

  • Assist scheduler to prepare and review the work schedule.

  • Participate in the CFT decision to optimize the work plan as per operation policy and assist CFT in budgeting process.

  • Assist in providing information for reporting requirements.

  • Understand the resources available from onsite and off-site suppliers for the plan, including equipment, materials, tradesmen, servicemen (softcover suppliers, etc.), laborers and contractors.

  • Identify potential improvement opportunities with Maintenance Management Systems and develop, implement process to improve the long term maintenance planning and scheduling at oil sands.

  • Effective communication with maintenance tradesmen, clerks, management, warehouse and procurement staff.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.

  • Journeyman Insulation Certification.

  • CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) Certification.

  • First Aid- Standard Level C Certification.
