Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Management Trainee to join our team at our NOVA Base Crew project team in Red Deer, Alberta location. This is a full time position on 4/3 shift rotation.
This position will be working within the maintenance services group. The candidate will receive a variety of training, exposure to a variety of functional areas and mentoring to ensure success. Graduates are qualified to move into a variety of challenging roles within the organization.

This is an entry-level leadership development program designed to prepare suitable candidates for supervisory and future management positions with AECOM Energy Operations & Maintenance (EOM) Canada - Maintenance Services.
This program will involve “hands-on” field work, which is physically demanding and labor intensive. It will require working extended hours on projects. However, candidates must be willing to be mobile to other Operating locations as the business requires.
Successful candidates will receive training in all facets of: Production Facilities Construction and Maintenance, Administration, Project Management, Estimating, QA/QC, Safe Work Practices, Sales and Marketing, and other areas of our business related to the energy and resource industries.
Candidates must be committed to learning and understanding the tasks at each phase of the training program that will include: proper work procedures, job planning, safety, cost awareness and developing team and customer relations.
Candidates must be outgoing, self-motivated, and have excellent communication and organization skills combined with a strong work ethic.
The program is typically two years in duration, but is dependent on the Trainee’s previous experience and accomplishments during the program. Candidates completing the Management Training Program will have the opportunity to pursue a career in a variety of roles in either Operational supervisory roles or Functional positions.

For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.
For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should be recent graduates, or expecting to graduate shortly, with a Business / Engineering Degree or a Diploma from NAIT/SAIT.
Advanced level in MS Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint.
Great verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to learn.
Positive attitude and team-player.
Able to work well independently and within team environment.
Willing and able to travel.
Able to work various shift rotation - this position starts with 4 day on 3 day off, but may required to work different shift schedule based on assigned project(s).
Construction Safety Ticket (CSTS-09 or 2020)
This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review.
Preferred Qualifications
Site construction or Maintenance Services work experience is an asset.
Previous employment experience in a Mechanical construction environment & energy sector is an asset.
Previous experience in Project Controls and/or Project Coordination experience is preferred.
Some experience in estimation, project coordination, quality and materials management is an asset
Applicants must be mobile and willing to relocate to operations within Western Canada.
Advanced knowledge in MS Office, specifically Excel formulas, pivot tables, macros and VBA is preferred.
