Job Summary
AECOM’s Environmental team in Edmonton is seeking a self-motivated; team oriented Socioeconomic Community Engagement Advisor for employment on a part-time basis.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work with the lead socioeconomic advisor
Assistant in strategy development and day-to-day implementation of project socioeconomic considerations
Manage relationships with key individuals and businesses in the Maskwacis community
Coordinate and attend cultural events on behalf of AECOM
Coordinate project communications such as newsletters, project updates and open houses
Participate in the Working Group committee and Reclamation committee meetings
Assist the Environmental Team in a planning and coordination capacity
Analyze data and prepare reports
Travel to work sites in Pigeon Lake area
This is a telecommute position based out of the Edmonton Office and will involve fieldwork and travel within the Pigeon Lake region and other locations in Alberta

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma
2+ years of experience in a socioeconomic advisor or coordinator role or community engagement or demonstrated experience and/or education.
Interest in the environmental and/or oil and gas industry.
Preferred Qualifications
Have an interest or past experience in Environmental work
Have a strong working knowledge of the Treaty 6 area
Knowledge of the Maskwacis area and surrounding Indigenous communities
Have a strong working knowledge of the Cree Culture/ Ability to speak Cree would be considered an asset
Willingness to attend Cultural events
