AECOM is seeking to hire a Senior or Principal Traffic Engineer who will be responsible for the delivery of traffic engineering, local transport, urban design/streetscape schemes in our Traffic and Local Roads team. We would consider the role on either a full or part-time basis and are happy to look at a range of different working patterns.
You should be proficient in industry standard software engineering tools such as Autocad and Civls3D. Knowledge of add-on software packages such as Autotrack and KeySign would be advantageous. We will expect you to fully manage projects and junior staff, taking projects through from feasibility/ preliminary design to detailed design.
The core responsibilities will be:
Assist in the preparation of fee proposals and contribute to major bids
Undertake traffic engineering studies and designs for junction improvements, Road Construction Consents, and Section 56 applications
Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief and national design guidance
Manage sub-consultants to produce deliverables against agreed timescales and in line with budget
Share knowledge and support the team to continue to develop as a leading group in project delivery of transportation projects
Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team and our clients

Demonstrate experience and knowledge of developing feasibility, preliminary and detailed design schemes
Knowledge and experience in some of the following design aspects: cycling, walking, bus priority, traffic calming, parking and junction design
Knowledge of local and national design standards
Response to client and stakeholder queries
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Proficient user of MS Excel and Word
HND, Degree, Masters or equivalent qualification in an analytical subject such as Engineering, Mathematics or Geography
