AECOM Energy Engineer, Industrial Facilities in East Syracuse, New York

United States of America - Maryland, Germantown

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a self motivated Energy Engineer to support energy program management activities at a client facility located in upstate NY. Although this position is tied to the Energy Business Line office in Germantown, MD, the successful candidate will be based at our client's location in upstate NY.

This position is contingent upon client award and approval.

Support Energy Master Planning efforts, including energy audits, identify energy savings opportunities, use tools and technology to compare cost-effective energy options and make recommendations to achieve more energy efficient operations for a multi national advanced manufacturing client located in upstate New York.

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Fluent with Microsoft Office products

  • This will be a client facing position requiring excellent communication, presentation & team work skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree preferred

  • 5+ years of energy savings project experience strongly preferred

  • Industrial experience in advanced manufacturing and/or life sciences is strongly preferred

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred
