AECOM Planner in Dublin, Ireland

Job Summary

The AECOM team requires an experienced planner for an initial period of 9 months in lieu of filling a vacant post in a client’s office.

The role will include involvement in various planning areas as set out below:

Development Management:

The co-ordination and management of responses to statutory development management applications and consultations, and when necessary appeals to An Bord Pleanála.

Policy Formulation and Support:

Planning, land use and transportation issues both internal and external related to; strategic planning.

Forward Planning:

The preparation of submissions in response to relevant forward planning policies and documentation produced by regional and local authorities.

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Understanding of the strategic function of the national roads network and light rail network and of strategies for its improvement.

  • Post graduate experience in evaluating proposals within the land use planning and development process.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Irish planning policy and legislation.

  • Familiarity with evaluating principles of traffic and transport assessments associated with development proposals.

  • Excellent analytical, writing and communications skills

  • Proficient computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite essential.

  • Fluency in GIS, drawing, project management programmes an advantage.

  • Familiarity with the culture and organisation of local authorities.

  • Proven leadership skills and effective relationship management ability.

  • Valid Driving Licence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recognised Degree or 3rd level professional qualification (HETAC Level 8 or equivalent) in Land Use Planning (RTPI or IPI accredited)
