Our Strategic Planning and Advisory team in Dublin wishes to appoint an Associate Director to support the growth of our Advisory services. This role has been created to meet existing and future demands and is intended to grow significantly over time as our business evolves, offering great career progression potential for the right person. Our team plans and evaluates future transport schemes, forecasts demand and revenue, develops and evaluates transport policy, provides advisory services to various governmental agencies, provides economic advice to policy makers in the field of transport and energy and more widely.

The key parts of the Advisory business include: economics, evaluation and monitoring; behavioural changes; social and market research; and public transport planning. However, the successful candidate will be expected to shape the offer in line with market opportunities.
AECOM in Ireland currently employs over 600 professionals in various sectors in the Republic and Northern Ireland, with over 200 working on Transport projects. The AECOM office in Dublin has an established track record of successfully delivering transportation projects throughout Ireland, as well as internationally. The team covers a wide range of numerate disciplines, including geographers, mathematicians, planners, economists, software specialists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities and Reporting Structure:
Reporting to the European Advisory Lead
Responsible for financial, business development (including strategy development) and staff matters, including recruitment in specific areas
Focus on key client management, responsible for business development and client development
Active member of the Advisory Leadership Team.
Development of strong relationships with key clients
Development of strong collaborative relationships across all AECOM disciplines and with other organisations
Developing the strategic advisory teams
Management of projects ensuring that high quality outputs are delivered on time and to budget
Contributing to the Strategic Planning and Advisory strategy for UK & Ireland
Achieving agreed revenue, profitability and business growth targets
Acting as a member of the Advisory leadership team, taking on additional responsibilities as necessary.
An experienced consultant is required, with a good understanding of the transport sector or other regulated asset-intensive regulated sectors, having directed key projects and managed high profile clients. This post would particularly suit an individual who is client facing and enjoys managing and growing a motivated and highly skilled workforce – in a culture where growth and personal accountability is encouraged.
The individual should already have strong client relationships, and a history of managing and developing teams.
An understanding of the broad AECOM offer will be essential, as work will inevitably cross all parts of the AECOM business.

Extensive amount of consulting or other relevant experience
Excellent writing, numeracy and communications skills
Proficient user of document production, spreadsheet and presentation software

Post graduate qualification preferable.
