AECOM Project Manager in Detroit, Michigan

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Manager for immediate employment for the Michigan Buildings + Places Practice. Our practice is a fun, fast-paced, and exciting environment with projects that vary widely in type, scope and complexity. We are looking for a person who wants to apply their passion and enthusiasm for project management in a collaborative and progressive work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages various aspects of architecture, interior design and engineering projects to profitably deliver services and results that meet or exceed client requirements and are aligned with AECOM’s core values and financial objectives.

  • Responsible for managing a project to achieve specified objectives. Involves the overall planning, coordination and control of a project from inception to completion to produce a functionally and financially viable project that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality.

  • Manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.

  • Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).

  • Build and maintain client relationships through active day to day leadership and alignment of goals

  • Develop project scope and fees with clients and/or business development when pursuing work

  • Participate in project interview process

  • Assemble and manage teams based on project scope and adjust accordingly to client requirements

  • Provide leadership to project teams through thorough communication and mutual understanding

  • Actively provide oversight to maintain organization and deliverables in all disciplines and phases

  • Provide guidance to develop staff skills and quality levels

  • Collaborate with internal members to promote quality and advancement within the industry and beyond

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with major in Architecture, Interior Design or related field and 4+ years of relevant experience leading or managing projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Higher Education, Hospitality and/or Healthcare market sectors

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Project Management experience on BIM projects

  • Strong understanding of architecture, interior design and engineering design coordination and delivery requirements
