AECOM Buildings + Places (B+P) is seeking a leader for the Federal Regional Market Sector Leader for the Midwest Region. The primary responsibilities will be to maintain, cultivate, and grow client relationships within the building and design Federal DoD and Federal Civilian Agencies, oversee and lead major pursuits, and lead multiple projects and programs through all phases of planning/ design and construction. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the development of regional market growth strategies, which articulate market trends/drivers and recommended priorities to successfully invest and grow, consistent with the national business line, region, and AECOM’s overall growth objectives. Specific to this position, will be a AECOM Buildings + Places (B+P) is seeking a leader for the Federal Regional Market Sector Leader for the Gulf/Southwest Region. The primary responsibilities will be to maintain, cultivate, and grow client relationships within the building and design Federal DoD and Federal Civilian Agencies, oversee and lead major pursuits, and lead multiple projects and programs through all phases of planning/ design and construction. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the development of regional market growth strategies, which articulate market trends/drivers and recommended priorities to successfully invest and grow, consistent with the national business line, region, and AECOM’s overall growth objectives. Specific to this position, will be a strong emphasis and focus on alternative delivery (D/B, P-3).
This position will have a dual reporting to the B+P Gulf/Southwest Regional Business Line Leader and the National Federal Market Sector Leader for the Americas. The Regional Federal Market Sector Leader will be responsible for achieving annual sales goals through keen understanding of the Federal building and design market place and ability to lead and win key pursuits. The Regional Federal Market Sector Leader will also work in close coordination with the National Governments team of Client Account Leaders, Business Line Leaders, and Regional Business Leaders in targeted pursuits across building and design Architecture, Building Engineering, Master Planning, Interiors, Asset Management, and Workplace Strategy.
This position will be based in our Denver, CO office; alternatively, the position could be based in the Houston or Dallas, TX areas.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provides day-to-day administration of the building and design Federal Market practice for the Gulf/Southwest practice
Will execute defined practice goals and business plans
Monitors the status of all building and design Federal DoD and Federal Civilian Market projects
Works closely with internal and external general contractors on alternative delivery pursuits and projects
Regularly reports regional status to the national Federal Market leadership team
Assists in pursuit/client engagements
Management and preparation of strategic/ key proposals, contracting and teaming negotiation, project management and establishing and sustaining relationships with key consultants to support the Federal business
Understands the industry, regional client needs, and market drivers
Significant experience in the Building Design Excellence initiatives within the Federal market (i.e. GSA, DoS)
Candidate must have a strong portfolio, background, and experience related to design focused programs
Understands and is passionate about alternative delivery strategies within the Federal market
Responsible for the development and achievement of regional business line sales and revenue goals across all disciplines within Buildings + Places
Develops and executes strategic practice planning and marketing strategies.
Works closely with National Federal Market Sector leadership on the execution of key growth initiatives.
Periodically acts as Project Lead on specific projects
Serves as business line Client Account Manager for specific client relationships
Prepares and executes business plans for area of responsibility
Conducts interviews/presentations at the executive level
Communicates business performance at the end of each accounting period
Collaborative and integrated delivery leader for all disciplines providing building and design services to the Federal Market Clients: Architecture, Interiors, Engineers, Consulting and Planning
Participate in developing annual business plan for the practice
Deep understanding of building and design Federal DoD and Federal Civilian Clients across planning, traditional A/E services, and alternative delivery acquisition strategies
Identifies new business opportunities while developing current client relationships
Lead capture strategy on key marketing and business development opportunities
Develop and maintain positive relationships with consultants, contractors and jurisdictional/approval agencies
Assist in development of fee proposals for marketing proposals as well as lead presentations with Business Line Leadership
Participates in local or state professional associations and conferences
Participates in interviews and recruitment of professional staff
Conducts employee performance evaluations, responsible for performance development
Participates in office design reviews and critiques
Bachelor's degree in building and design Architecture, Interior Design, Building Engineering, Planning or related field
10+ years’ experience in architecture/engineering or planning projects with prior management experience in all phases of projects including experience in sales, business development and/or marketing
Proven ability to successfully develop client relationships and win work
Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint, InDesign or other presentation software
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
- Security Clearance preferred, but not required
