Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager for full-time employment in the Greenwood Village, CO office. The project manager will work in the AECOM Water Business unit on various water/wastewater projects including but not limited municipal water/wastewater, hydraulic systems, and master planning. AECOM is searching for enthusiastic candidates that are client focused, impactful, decisive and have the ability to serve as a role model. The successful candidate will provide design support, client coordination and networking, business development insight, and work closely with other senior project managers. The position will involve working on projects for the state, local municipalities, federal agencies, and private clients. The successful candidate will have a strong area of expertise in water systems, water treatment, and/or wastewater treatment and able to support and provide oversight and leadership for other project managers.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans, directs, and supervises major, complex projects and/or multiple moderately sized projects with greater risk and complexity, and significant financial impacts

  • Manage projects on a local to national basis

  • Act as primary point of contact with clients and have full responsibility of project delivery

  • Be responsible for delivery for a project, including leading teams with multiple members that may include multiple business lines, remote workers, and subcontractors

  • Work with clients to provide long-term solutions and maintain and develop strong client relations

  • Provide leadership and technical guidance in his/her area of expertise related to water or wastewater

  • Participate in group oversight and leadership working closely with other water Project Managers and group staff to empower them to deliver quality projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering

  • 10+ year’s water resource engineering experience including project management experience managing projects with $5M-$20M contract value and $1M-$2.5M annual gross revenue

  • Professional Engineering License required

  • Must have strong technical progression within water/wastewater engineering and familiar with government contracts, local utilities contracts, and private clients

  • Must be experience in the design/construction of water/wastewater projects and be capable as serving as a technical lead in an area of expertise related to water

  • Ability to meet project schedules

  • Demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Demonstrated understanding of business development and proposal response process

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ownership and accountability for quality deliverables

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate the technical aspects of projects to a wide audience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as exceptional organizational skills

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Have experienced managing other Project Managers and navigating corporate policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Engineer in Colorado

  • Good understanding of local and regional markets and able to support marketing effort in pursuing work

  • Local and international project experience

  • Experience or interest in business operations and internal finance
