Job Summary

The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Professional Structural Engineer, an expert in the dams engineering field, for immediate employment in the Greenwood Village, CO office. This individual will be a creative, highly talented engineer who will provide technical and management guidance for a group of design professionals in a team setting; the technical emphasis of the group is design and assessment of dams, including concrete gravity and arch dam structures. The individual may also provide business development leadership and support to AECOM regional water business line. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in a large, complex project or several moderately sized projects with greater risk and complexity, and significant financial impact

  • Resolves complex issues

  • Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and designs

  • Acts as primary point of contact with client and has full responsibility for project delivery

  • May be responsible for Project teams that include 10 or more members often representing multiple business lines

  • Work with clients to provide long-term solutions

  • Provide technical leadership in the areas of design, analysis, and construction of various dams projects

  • Work in a senior role as a technical leader with a close-knit team of design professionals where effective communication is an important part of the job

  • Leadership and/or participation in business development activities

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Related Engineering Discipline from ABET-accredited institution.

  • 13 years of experience in the evaluation, planning, design and construction of dams and related facilities.

  • 13 years of project analysis, feasibility and budgeting experience.

  • Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

  • Must have strong technical progression within structural engineering for both government contracts and private sector clients

  • Previous experience as a technical leader within the area of structural engineering for water resource and dam remediation projects

  • Must have experience in the analysis, design, and construction of concrete dams

  • Ability to support marketing effort in pursuing work on dams and related water infrastructure projects

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • 15 years of progressive experience within the water infrastructure field

  • Experience in the design and construction, including rehabilitation or new construction, of more than 2 concrete dams over 100-ft high

  • Personnel management, mentoring, leadership skills

  • Experience in client service and business development activities

  • Business development acumen and experience

  • Strong client contacts and relationships, especially among dams clients
