Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Library Technician to join our team. The position will be located on the government site at the Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) Dam Neck, VA.

Position Description:

Works directly with Government and Contractor personnel to provide library support to CSCS Library Dam Neck, Val

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide customer service both in person and telephonically

Maintain library collection, circulate library materials, and maintain a status accounting system for recording the circulation of records

Receive, process, and track material

Provide monthly progress report

Disseminate, control, and track library materials on load

Maintain physical collection

Shelve books, periodicals, reports, specifications, and standards according to appropriate identification

Organize and shift library materials to accommodate growth

Ensure publications are kept up-to-date with the latest changes available

Record changes electronically

Evaluate, disassemble, and shred materials, as needed

Order publications, as needed

Collect publications for destruction

Perform general organizational tasks

Perform or report equipment maintenance, as needed

Position requires a current SECRET security clearance.

One year of general knowledge of routine library functions

Able to perform duties such as shelf maintenance and recordkeeping, circulation, and material retrieval

Understands filing systems for each type of material

Able to file correctly and accurately by specific numbers

Position may require travel.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have a working knowledge of computers and software/hardware; i.e., MS Word, Outlook, Excel. Some familiarity with military flying operations desired. Excellent interpersonal skills are required”.
