Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Resident Engineer for immediate employment for the Dallas, TX office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Coordinate with Clients, Subcontractors and Staff daily to ensure the project is designed, constructed, operated and maintained in accordance with the Comprehensive Development Agreement

  • Develop and Continuously Improve Integrated Management System

  • Maintain Safe Work environment

  • Maintain proper documentation of the work

  • Attend progress and other meetings and take notes

  • Review and comment on Developer submittals

  • Manage inspection of highways, bridges and ITS/ETCS

  • Supervise project staff and approve quality and content of deliverables

  • Identify deficiencies and notify Developer/TxDOT

  • Manage Owner Verification Testing and Independent Assurance roles

  • Monitor Developer activities and performance

  • Initiate and participate in Audits of Developer processes and deliverables

  • Oversee CDA, and report recommendations for LDs and noncompliance points

  • Prepare and develop recommendations for continuous improvement of Technical Requirements

  • Oversee and develop Staff

  • Work in the field in the weather conditions that are similar to Dallas Texas

  • Maintain/Develop winning relationships with Clients.

  • Review and manage subcontracts

  • Prepare and develop change orders

  • Review and check inspectors pay quantities

  • Attend progress meetings and take notes

  • Review and make recommendations on contractors’ submittals

  • Investigate and prepare necessary design changes to the plans

  • Track budgets

  • Inspection of highway and bridges

  • Work in the field in the weather conditions that are similar to Dallas Texas

  • Ensure projects meet AECOM and Client Requirements

  • Assistance on Proposals including writing and teaming

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

  • 10+ years managing and inspecting the CEI of Highways & Bridges

  • Texas PE, The ability to gain within 6 Months after employment

  • Able to effectively communicate (read, compose, and discuss/negotiate with contractors and client in English

  • Knowledgeable in MS Office

  • Experienced in MS Excel ( proficient at developing formulas and some micros)

  • Work in the field in the weather conditions that are similar to Dallas Texas

  • Capable of lifting 75 lbs

  • Willing to work hours on the project required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excel Skills a plus-knowledge of creating micros, formulas, linking tabs/sheets, pivot tables

  • Experience Construction Management of Highway and Bridges for State Agencies

  • Experience in Highway & Bridge- Design, Maintenance, and Traffic

  • Experience and ability to train others on the team

  • BI-lingual in Spanish a plus
