Job Summary

The position is responsible for researching, monitoring, advising, and documenting tax legal matters in a variety of areas of U.S. tax law, including income, international, executive compensation, employee benefits, partnerships, and corporate reorganizations. Play a critical project management role for the Tax Department with acquisitions, dispositions, and internal restructurings along with supporting positions taken on federal, state, and international tax returns. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing support and assistance in the identification, evaluation, development, and execution of strategies to manage global income taxes.

  • Performing tax research for tax planning projects.

  • Building financial models for the tax consequences of planning ideas and new business initiatives.

  • Working as part of cross-functional teams (including Treasury, Legal, Accounting and business unit and geographic staff) to implement value-added planning initiatives.

  • Managing outside consultants assisting on planning projects.

  • Keeping abreast of and providing analysis of tax law developments.

  • Supporting tax operations team through documenting positions taken, planning ideas implemented and significant changes in structure and laws.

  • Review contract representations, warranties, and tax specific clauses.

  • Assisting in resolving issues identified in federal tax audits.

  • Responsible for coordinating federal and state controversy matters.

  • Assessment, analysis and implementation of appropriate methods of accounting.

Minimum Requirements

This position requires a team player who is highly organized, responsive and can work on multiple projects simultaneously while producing accurate and timely results. Experience and skills required include:

  • Five or more years of experience in a Big Four public accounting, law firm, and/or large public company tax departments.

  • Strong tax technical skills in Subchapters C and K.

  • Highly organized with strong project management skills.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to work with all levels in a global organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • JD/LLM Preferred

  • This position is based at our Dallas (Galleria), TX office (Local Candidates preferred)
