Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide certification support for Advanced Capability Build (ACB) 16 programs. Specific tasks include preparation for certification events, certification assessment cycles and analysis of OQE artifacts from PARMs, Developer (RTN), Safety, and Navy Independent Test (NIT) Team. Specific certification tasking includes:

  • Provide Combat System Certification support in accordance with PEOIWSINST 4730.1A criteria: Safety; Mission Readiness; Information Assurance; Quality Indicators; Standards Compliance; Sustainability; Verification & Validation; Installation Readiness; and Plans Process and Schedule

  • Develop and maintain Combat System Certification Plans.

  • Develop and maintain Certification Assessments.

  • Participate in, and lead Core Certification Teams for coordinating the activities of the entire certification team.

  • Gather and assess Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) to support Certification Criteria.

  • Develop Certification Briefs to support ACB 16 Mission Readiness Assessments (MRA) and Combat System Certification Panels (CSCP).

  • Document and Track Operational Guidance and Restrictions associated with ACB 16 computer program builds

  • Document and Track MRA and CSCP action items.

  • Update and maintain Certification Critical information on the Certification Virtual War Room (CVWR) database/spreadsheets.

Minimum Requirements

Five (5) years of job-related experience or equivalent required. Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Candidate can either have completed an ABET recognized engineering curriculum, such as Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Industrial Engineering (IE), or Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), or hold a Bachelor's degree in Physical Science, Engineering, or Mathematics that includes 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. Examples include:

  • Applied Math

  • Applied Physics

  • Operational Research

  • Modeling and Simulation

  • Chemistry

  • Computer Science

  • Naval Architecture

​Candidate must also have relevant experience in at least two (2) of the following areas:

  • Software Engineering

  • Modeling and Simulation

  • Requirements Engineering

  • Requirements Management

  • Architecture Engineering

  • Test and Evaluation

  • Combat system performance analysis

  • Model Based System Engineering

  • Agile software development

  • Systems Engineering

  • Data analysis

  • Warfare analysis
