Position Title Configuration Management Software Build Coordinator

AECOM is seeking a CM Build Coordinator to support the MK 160 Gun Weapon System (GWS) Program. This position will be a part of the Weapon Control System Support team and is located in Dahlgren VA.
Manage the application build and release process as an integral part of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Work collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and provides support to developers, CM, and testers as they set up their build development/test environments.
Work with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.
Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms.
Demonstrate an understanding of source control, branching and merge strategies.
Oversee maintenance and integrity of source code library.
Work with development team to ensure use of best practices in source code branching, merges and versioning.
Define, update and maintain environment and software build procedure documentation.
Align application updates with a focus on minimizing risk and downtime to customers of the application.
Provide troubleshooting expertise and drive resolution for all issues in DEV and Test environments and other environments on an as-needed basis.
Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across internal business and clients.
Continually work toward making improvements in the release process.
Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.
Train and mentor team members on process and technologies used to support development and releases.
Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities.
Assist in day to day SCM activities, including code merging, versioning and general code maintenance.
Provide build and deployment status to team.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance.
(5) or more years experience working in Linux/Unix software development environment.
Experience with agile and waterfall software development processes.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral .
Strong organizational skills, understanding of process development and execution, and execution to a schedule.
Three or more years of previous software release experience with a solid understanding of product release considerations.
One or more year of source code management experience using SVN, Git, Hg, TRAC,or similar tools.
Experience with Software Compilation, GCC, G++, Makefiles, Build Scripts, ect.
Four or more years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development.
Two or more years of experience using scripting and analysis tools: Lua, Python, Octave, Sage.
Experience with Release Engineering and/or Build Austomation best Practices.
Familiarity with Configuration Management best practices.
