Position Title Configuration Management (CM) Specialist

Job Summary

  • Research and analyze issues and problems in acquisition, engineering design changes, change impacts to design interface, cost, and logistics; determine alternatives; and recommend approaches/solutions.

  • Collaborate daily with customer(s) to define, coordinate, and track the status of program tasks and engineering changes and change instructions, maintain metrics, and advise on technical and configuration management planning and implementation.

  • Develop and/or review program reports, technical papers, drawings, specifications, procedures, etc.; provide comments; and organize, consolidate, adjudicate comments from various organizations, and prepare reports.

  • Prepare program management correspondence, (i.e., letters, memoranda, and route sheets); develop plans, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations. Prepare analytical reports and meeting minutes.

  • Advise the customer configuration manager(s) as subject matter expert on program planning, development, and implementation of configuration management functions to meet customer program goals and objectives.

  • Interface daily with various engineering, program management, and logistics task leaders to exchange information and coordinate related task performance.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from an accredited college or university, or four (4) years of a demonstrated knowledge base.

  • In addition, six (6) years of experience in developing documentation, specification, standards and instructions including combat/weapon system configuration management processes and functions, documentation version control and releases, software metrics generation and reporting, software media generation, hardware/ software documentation generation, verification, and distribution, and software development process documentation.

  • Two (2) years of concurrent experience, demonstrated for current Navy programs such as LCS SUW Mission Package Application Software (MPAS), SLBM Fire Control System, Tomahawk and/or USW systems.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position requires an active Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SLBM Fire Control is preferred.

  • Experience using DOORS or Jira is preferred..
