Position Title ESOH Specialist

This position is located in DÜLMEN ,
Manage, implement, and monitor health, safety & environment (HSE) programs in a specific program and/or business area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily.
Perform safety and health inspections and assessments of shops, parking areas, hazardous materials/waste storage areas, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Train employees on relevant safety concepts and requirements, such as but not limited to fall protection and Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO).
Conduct investigations on safety and health incidents and recommend corrective actions.
Track and trend safety and health data.
Assist shops with identifying proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety related equipment.
Monitor the medical surveillance program for the site.
Strive to continuously improve the site’s safety and health culture.
Assist environment personnel when necessary to include performing environment inspections and conducting environmental release investigations.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies; renewing certifications.
Maintain a daily timesheet and daily manning report and ensuring correct times are accurate.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to situations where risk of electrical shock and vibration exist. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Procedure Compliance - Each employee must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Three years of experience in environment, safety, and health or equivalent field.
Must obtain Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification within six months of hire for the position, and Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification within one year.
Demonstrate commitment to continuing education and training in environment, safety, and occupational health.
Current First aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training required.
Industrial hygiene and radiation safety a plus, but not mandatory.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background check and a security clearance. Travel may also be required.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English, and have basic computer skills. German language skills are beneficial.
Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistic Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).
Specialized knowledge and skills
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English and preferably German.
Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to accomplish results through interaction with management team and other HSE professional within business unit, and/or on own with significant latitude and independence in assignments.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
Military setting is preferred, but not required.
