A successful candidate will be capable of performing planning and modeling related tasks for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. The position will entail work with both pressure pipe networks and gravity pipe networks. The candidate will be required to maintain a professional appearance and interface with AECOM’s clients. A strong ethical foundation and professional integrity are essential to the position. Additional activities for the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Hydrologic and hydraulic studies
Development and implementation of hydraulic and hydrologic models
Water main design
Force main design
Economic Benefit Cost Analysis
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and associated software.
Metadata preparation and maintenance
Graphic representation of data to communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively
Use of judgment while developing preliminary scopes of work
Selection and adaptation of engineering alternatives for proposed changes to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems
Preparation of engineering related calculations and development of drawings and visual aids
Preparation of detailed design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD MEP
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related field
EI or Ability to acquire EI
Strong Technical Writing skills and communication skills
Ability to interface with clients
Some hydraulic modeling experience
Experience with GIS and CADD
AutoCAD / AutoCAD Civil 3D
Microsoft Office Suite
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with existing and prospective clients
Use of InfoWater, InfoWorks, ICM, HEC-RAS or HEC-HMS
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software experience
Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) Programming
ArcGIS 10.x / ArcHydro
Python, Java script, and SQL experience
Model Builder Application Development
Knowledge of cartography, coordinate systems, and map projections
Augmented Reality (AR) with GIS
Utility Asset Management
Fluency in Spanish
The ideal candidate for this position would desire to gain an intimate knowledge of our client’s water and wastewater systems and possess the ability to interface with the client on technical, administrative, and business development aspects of the work. The candidate should obtain their EI and demonstrate a passion for water resources engineering, including: water quality, water and wastewater treatment, hydraulics, engineering design, floodplain management. The candidate should be willing and able to use innovative and emergent technologies within the water resources industry.
