The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented and self-motivated Senior Bridge Engineer for immediate employment in the Columbus, Ohio office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Civil Engineering specific to bridge design in Ohio, including the design of a variety of bridge types, and the preparation of construction plans, specifications and estimates.
Responsibilities will include a combination of the following:
Assist Ohio Leadership with business development and in preparing client proposals and marketing efforts.
Assist Ohio Leadership in developing and implementing marketing strategies for targeted public sector clients and specific projects in Central Ohio.
Plan, schedule, and manage detailed phases of bridge engineering projects.
Verify that applicable codes, engineering standards and environmental commitments are being met.
Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
Track overall financial performance of task assignments, which includes coordinating with Ohio Leadership to monitor sold time and work backlog on tasks.
Delegate work to junior staff, and mentor, train, and supervise junior staff to complete assignments.
Contact and interact with local public sector clients (ODOT, Cities, and Counties, etc.) in order to successfully complete assigned projects.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
10+ years of experience in bridge design in Ohio, including LRFD design experience, and knowledge of bridge design software.
Registered as a P.E. in the State of Ohio.
Eligibility for prequalification with ODOT for Bridge Design Levels 1 and 2.
Experience with ODOT design policies, procedures, and requirements; and with developing plans and specifications for ODOT, counties and municipalities.
Proficiency in steel and concrete bridge design as well as the ability to learn and develop technical skills for unique and advanced design requirements on projects.
Ability to independently develop contract documents, perform calculations, write specifications, and develop estimates.
Good written and verbal communication skills, including sales and marketing
Willingness to learn to manage projects and track financial status.
Some overnight travel may be required.
Valid driver's license required.
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
