Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Entry Level Construction Inspector/Manager for immediate employment in our Columbia, SC office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Completes diverse project tasks on water and wastewater construction projects

  • Works with all stakeholders (client, engineer, construction contractor) of a construction project to manage a timely delivery of the project to the client

  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

  • Works under general supervision

  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties

  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records

  • Participates in shop drawing reviews, punch lists, testing, and commissioning

  • Coordinates and conducts project progress meetings

  • Tracks quality assurance progress

  • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • OSHA 10 Certified or ability to earn OSHA 10 within 3 months

  • Strong communication and client relation skills

  • Have functional knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and scheduling within the Microsoft Office software

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment

  • Must posses a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Construction Engineering or Associate’s Degree in Construction Management

  • HAZWOPER Certification or ability to earn HAZWOPER within 6 months

  • Previous experience in the construction industry is preferred

  • Construction estimation experience is preferred
