Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative and motivated Entry Level Transportation Engineer for immediate employment in the Colorado Springs, CO office. The appropriately qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate prior experience and relevant coursework in Civil Engineering. The position provides the opportunity to support roadway design efforts for exciting, challenging, and high-profile transportation projects involving highway and interchange designs. This position provides training, guidance, and development of skills needed to acquire a Professional Engineering license.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design of civil engineering projects including roadways, highways, freight and transit, drainage improvements and utility relocation and protection.

  • Preparation of engineering design reports, construction plans, and contract documents / technical specifications.

  • Design and construction phase services for state and municipal clients.

  • Collaborating with design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Must be interested in design of transportation projects

  • Must have working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and other MS Office products

  • Knowledge of design software tools including MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, or AutoCAD

  • Valid driver’s license required

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working experience in the Civil Engineering industry

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
