Position Title Traffic Engineer

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented and self-motivated Traffic/Transportation Engineer for immediate employment in an Ohio office (Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland or Akron). The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Traffic/Transportation Engineering specific to traffic design including but not limited to signal system design and modeling, signal design, highway lighting, traffic control design, and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications and construction estimates.
The candidate can look forward to projects including:
Signal System Evaluation and Improvements
Intelligent Transportation Systems
Traffic Impact Studies / Interchange Modification Studies
Intersection and Interchange Improvement Plans
Urban and Rural Roadway Improvement Plans
Maintenance of Traffic Plans
The candidate will be responsible for following ODOT, KYTC, and/or City standards and performing engineering calculations under the supervision of a more senior engineer.

Plans, schedules, conducts, coordinates, and manages detailed phases of traffic engineering projects.
Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
Tracks overall financial performance of task assignments.
Delegates work to, mentors, trains, and supervises less experienced staff to complete assignments.
Contacts and interacts with local public sector clients.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
5+ years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as traffic design
Registered (and in good standing) as a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio and/or Kentucky.
Experience developing plans and specifications for ODOT, KYTC, counties and municipalities.
Ability to independently develop contract documents, perform calculations, write specifications, and develop estimates.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation and experience with MS Office, Synchro, HCS and traffic analysis software, and be able to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.
Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both, verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work.
Some overnight travel may be required.
Valid driver's license required.
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Working knowledge of Vissim, AGi32, and Visual Basic analysis software.
Strong technical writing skills (i.e. traffic impact studies, safety studies, IMS).
