AECOM Regional Electric Engineering Lead in Chicago, Illinois

Job Summary

AECOM is in search of a candidate to lead the electrical engineering discipline as regional lead with multiple groups spanning the United States. The selected AECOM office location is Columbus, OH but other US AECOM office locations are an option.

As regional lead you will have the opportunity build teams, work on major pursuits, and engage electrical engineers on various designs of high-performance buildings within multiple sectors including Mission Critical, Corporate Workplace, Commercial building, Federal Civilian and DoD, Higher Education, Health Care, Sports Arenas, Themed Entertainment, and Justice projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Client account leadership, including development of client plans and the identification, positioning, pursuit and securing of new business.

  • Responsible for customer satisfaction on AECOM’s performance. Regularly meets with customers to ensure that we are providing quality installations and meeting their individual needs. Conducts follow-up reviews of solutions to verify that desired objectives were accomplished effectively and efficiently.

  • Team and project discipline leadership / management.

  • Capture management.

  • Team member development.

  • Participation in development of proposal response.

  • Working knowledge of local and international codes, NEC and LEED standards

  • Development of system narratives (writing, organizing the document, develop concepts).

  • Ability to concisely express complex system solutions in very early design phases in order to share intent either internally for further development, or externally to assist design partners.

  • Coordinate electrical system design with electrical engineers, architects, and other design professionals.

  • Review / Edit specifications.

  • Review team member work for quality and recognition of training requirements.

  • Interact and work with diverse set of clients and subcontractors.

  • Ownership of team metrics (utilization, finances, performance reviews)

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 12 years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer Licensed

  • Excellent project planning, project management, organizational and time management skills

  • Extensive understanding of engineering fundamentals including load calculations, conceptual systems analysis through construction documentation design, design and layout of equipment.

  • Documented experience with advanced design, and technically challenging design with high profile technology firms working to fast paced schedules

  • Expertise in corporate, healthcare and mission critical market sectors.

  • Experience with Design Build and other Alternative Delivery practice
