AECOM Architect II/Interior Designer II in Chicago, Illinois

Job Summary

The Corporate Market practice, part of AECOM's Buildings + Places, is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Architectural Designer II /Interior Designer II for immediate employment in our Chicago, IL office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • As part of a team, create and develop design and technical solutions in response to client needs.

  • Preparing designs, renderings, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings to illustrate design solutions.

  • Developing and documenting details to communicate design intent.

  • Developing, adapting, or modifying design features and details under the direction of a project manager, project designer, or project architect.

  • Selection and specification of finish materials and furniture.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design and 2+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education

  • Intermediate design and production skills.

  • Knowledge of project design and construction document production, standard construction techniques and principals.

  • Fluency with Revit Architecture software. Knowledge of 3D computer modeling including Sketch-Up, Rhino, or similar programs is important, along with basic Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Corporate Workplace experience desired.

  • Working knowledge of all phases for and aspects of Corporate Workplace projects.

  • Sustainability, resiliency, and/or climate adaptation experience a plus but not a requirements.

  • Professional registration as an architect or certification as an interior designer is a plus.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
