AECOM Fire Protection Engineer in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Job Summary

We currently have opportunities on exciting and challenging projects supporting Government & Department of Defense Programs as well as other high-profile clients around the globe. We help shape the world around us! Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required to be considered for these positions.

Fire Protection Engineer

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Relocation benefits are not provided for this position.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and experience as a Fire Protection Engineer

  • Registration as a licensed fire protection engineer (FPE)

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

  • Ability to obtain US government security clearance

  • Excellent AutoCAD and REVIT skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DoD projects

  • Security Clearance preferred

  • Master’s degree

  • Experience designing projects for the US Army Corps of Engineers with knowledge of UFC Standards, ProjNet, Scheduling and cost engineering.

  • Plumbing and HVAC design experience.
